The island of El Toro is a marine reserve just off the south-west coast of Mallorca. It's full of life and has dives for all levels on it. Even before it received its marine reserve status, El Toro was full of life. Now that fishing is effectively banned it has become arguably the best dive site in Mallorca. Springtime this is home to octopus galore as well as being abundant with cardinal fish and bream. There is also a cave at 5m depth which is home to shrimp and rockfish. |

| Only a stones throw from El Toro, but part of the main island of Mallorca, so similar life, but on a wall rather than a sloping floor. This dive site is actually part of the El Toro marine reserve so again the life is abundant and the water crystal clear. |

A cracking wall dive is available here with the current running past El Toro and Malgrats marine reserves ensuring there's loads of life here. Another site where visibility is typically 20+ meters.

The west tip of the island of Malgrats, which like El Toro is also a marine reserve, has got some of the most diverse marine life on the island. You could dive this place a hundred times and still be surprised the next time out. Look out for the lobsters and the mermaid - you think I'm joking don't you...! |

Again, part of a Mallorca marine reserve so lots of life. The site is named after a rock that allegedly looks like a submarine. Frequently done as a drift dive this part of the island often has barracuda and eels on it. A beautiful dive site. |

| There are two dives available from the piscina, depending upon experience. For everybody, there this a wall dive, with maximum depth about 18m. The life is typical of Mallorca and plentiful. Going the other direction you dive the channel. Barracuda like to hang about in the current in the channel. A very popular dive site. |

It's the wreck of a phoenician trading vessel that sunk off the coast of Mallorca ca. 2500 years ago. The wreck is more or less fossilised now and looks like a 15m diameter rock surrounded by white sand. There are still many remnants of the amphores that were on the boat at the time of the sinking and this together with the age of the wreck and the narcosis make this a memorable experience. |

A very easy dive onto an area full of what are known as 'the cathedral rocks'. Lots of marine life typical of the area and numerous mini caves/tunnels. This is a beautiful area for diving and well worth a visit whilst you're in Mallorca |
| Cave of the Madonna |

| Mallorca is well known for its caves and caverns. This is actually more of a cavern than a cave. It has an enormous entrance stretching from about 5m down to 18m. Outside the cave the bottom slopes gradually down to 30m. The cave itself has a statuette of the Madonna and behind the Madonna there is normally one, sometimes 2 large conger eels. It's possible to surface inside the cave and you'll find the salt water has turned into fresh water at the surface! |

A wall dive at the bottom of vertical cliffs. The visibility here is normally superb and the continuation of the cliff creates an underwater wall along which you can perform a drift dive with the current. |

Sa Mola is an imposing headland on the west coast of Mallorca, with some of the best diving to be had on Mallorca. The clarity of the water and the abundance of marine life makes this one of the best dive sites on the island. Barracuda seem to be attracted to this area more than most and on a good day you can find yourself surrounded by hundreds of them. This is another favourite. |

| Mallorca is famous for its cave diving and tunnels and Cala Monjo is a perfect example of what's available. I'll say nothing more about this dive other than if cave dives interest you then you'll want to try this one out! |

| Isla del Sech |
Open Water and Advanced Open Water |

We used to dive El Sech quite frequently, but the introduction of the marine reserves at El Toro and Malgrats means this is pretty much redundant as a dive site now. There were essentially 3 dives available here.
The first involves starting out from a 5m ledge and slowly descending down to 18m, following the side of the island.
The second involves heading off to a wrecked wooden fishing vessel at 18m. The wreck is very broken up now but is home to a variety of marine life and is worth a visit. The third option, for Advanced Open Water divers is to descend directly on to a different wooden wreck lying between 24 and 30m. This wreck is little more than a wooden hull now and there is little life to see.Given the great diving around the corner in the marine reserves we see little point in diving El Sech now, but if there are a group of divers who want to visit El Sech (WHY?!!!) then we'll take you! |

Wreckage of a german cargo vessel containing dozens upon dozens of moray and conger eels, situated between Mallorca and Dragonera. Not surprisingly there is very little other life on the wreck, but as something different it's a dive well worth doing. |
| Please note that there is a 15Euro supplement for this dive - but for the experienced diver looking for a unique experience this is a dive site well worth visiting. |

Dragonera
|
Open Water and Advanced Open Water |
20-40m |
Yes - new for 2005 |
30mins |
The western most tip of the island of Dragonera has the form of an underwater wall, dropping down to more or less 55m depth though the dive stops at 30-40m for safety reasons. The life is reminiscent of El Toro but the spectacular wall and the deep blue of the water make this a quite different dive.
As something a bit different there is a cave dive available on Dragonera, it's called the 'window cave' and it involves entering the cave, surfacing within the cave and then taking your equipment off before climbing up the inside of the island to the 'window'. When you look out the window you see the boat below you, which doesn't seem possible... but it is. Please note that there is a 15Euro supplement for this dive. |
