DIVING THE TUNNEL AT CALA MONJO

Exiting the tunnel into the blue...

Cala Monjo - The island of Mallorca has a reputation as a party island, and that reputation is well deserved. But, it's only one aspect of life on the island. Diving is a very popular sport with residents and visitors alike.

One aspect of diving in Mallorca is cave and tunnel diving. A great example is the tunnel at Cala Monjo. Relatively shallow at 8m depth and wide enough to get through without scraping off the sides the tunnel is actually quite a simple dive. The tunnel length is about 35m and there's a dogleg in the middle, as well as a very small cave where you'll normally find shrimp. Because of the darkness - pitch black as you approach the dogleg - we provide you with a torch if you don't have one yourself.

Note that because the tunnel is an overhead environment you'll need to have your PADI Advanced or equivalent do do this dive. If you've never done a cave or tunnel before this dive may interest you!!!
