MAD Divers News from June 2004

LOBSTERS INVADE MARINE RESERVE

SES-BARDINES - The area around El Toro and Malgrats has always offered some of the best diving in the Balearic Islands, but recently the entire area was designated a national marine reserve. MAD Divers organised a trip to one part of the reserve on Saturday. Already, after less than a month, the difference is noticeable. There appeared to be more fish than previously but also there has been a returm of the octopus (OK, it's the breeding season just starting) and on this one dive we saw a number of lobster as well as a couple of nudibranch- have a look at the pictures (Gracias Paco!) .

OLD FRIENDS With the main dive season starting again we had a number of friends from previous years returning to dive with us again. A special hello to John, Kevin, Andy, Marie and Sheila. Sorry to see you go guys, see you again later in the year. Also back diving again are some of the islands residents/workers such as Steve from the Sol Tordos, Simon from the Tartan Arms and Janai from the Sonamar (she's the one who does the Catherine Zeta Jones number).
